Welcome New Students

The Atlantic School of Chartered Accountancy would like to welcome new students to the School, and wish you every success with our program.

Since you are in the process of registering, we're sure you have many questions concerning what lies ahead. We've provided information on a number of items which should prove helpful as you proceed through the program.

You should pay particular attention to the ASCA Information Handbook, as students are expected to be familiar with the rules and regulations of the School.

The handbooks are PDF files, which require Acrobat Reader for viewing. If you don't have a copy, you can download it free from the Adobe Web site.

  1. CA Magazine
    Many articles in CA Magazine are important readings for UFE candidates, because they provide current information on topics of interest to the profession. The magazine is mailed to you directly from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) in Toronto after you have been accepted as a student with the School.
  2. Examination Process, Procedures, Rules and Techniques
    This booklet provides information on the evaluation process, exam rules and an interesting section on techniques that can be used to improve scores by following logical, but often forgotten, exam writing methods. Download booklet
  3. ASCA Information Handbook
    This handbook provides information such as registration requirements, course descriptions and general regulations and procedures. Please note: We are in the process of updating the handbook; the updated edition will be available shortly.   4. Training Guide
    All CA students are required to complete a 30 month term of service as part of their overall training. The guide provides information and assistance regarding the profession's expectations of practical experience.   5. Other
    The VPL containing the CICA Handbook is sent to you by the School after you are accepted as a student (or earlier if it is part of your course requirements).
